Katie and Jess Atkinson are the sisters behind Home for the Night (along with some help from mum and dad, Jill and Jonathan!). Ashley Cottage has been part of the Atkinson family since 2004 with Milton House and Thorncliffe being more recent additions. Katie and Jess are born and bred in the East Riding of Yorkshire and have spent holidays in North Yorkshire all of their lives. This has resulted in the sisters being passionate about showcasing their local area, wanting guests to be able to explore whilst having the most comfortable of places to stay. They are committed to making sure that you have the best experience, from the moment you book to the follow up and desire for feedback after your holiday. They are on hand to help with any queries or if you would like any advice on things to do and see during your break. The Atkinson’s have worked really hard to make sure that all of the properties truly are a home from home and hope that whatever the reason for your stay, you have a wonderful holiday.
Katie is the main point of contact for your stay in a Home for the Night property. With a marketing background at Jo Malone, The White Company and Neom Organics, she has a real eye for design and luxury and hopes that this comes through across the website, social media and in the properties themselves.
Jess takes a more behind the scenes role in Home for the Night. She is a former maths teacher and so is the go to girl for all things numbers and making sure Katie sticks to the plan! Jess lives in Pocklington, so please don’t hesitate to ask for any recommendations as she knows the local area well.
Beautiful cottage. Very well equipped kitchen allowing us to cook as we would at home. Lots of additional little touches really made it special including the welcome pack, doggy treats and luxury soaps in every bathroom. We can't wait to return.
Fantastic cottage in a beautiful area. Very clean, very modern, actually one of the best places we have stayed. Its ideal for a family get together, we will certainly rebook.
Wonderful little cottage in a peaceful location within easy access of York, the moors and the coast. Nice little treats on arrival which made us smile. We would book again.
A really attractive, well-equipped cottage in an excellent situation in the village. Everything was lovely and clean and the beds were really comfortable. I had a query before we went and it was dealt with in a really efficient way by the owners.
